Order Message content with the auto email?
Is there a way to send the text of an order message to customers. At the moment, when I send a custoemr message the customer has to login to read. Often they forget the login, couldn't be bothered, etc.
I'd love to have the auto email go to the customer with all the same info as it does now but also the text of the message.

Inappropriate?I think that in general BC team should change the process that a customer need to log in to see something he got an email for. what is the benefit of making the customer sign in to read a message or to see their tracking? I can tell you that since I started working with BC I get too many phone calls from customers about stuff that if they would just see it on the email (instead of getting an email that says they need to login) they would not have to call me.
Don't know where BC got the idea for this process in the first place, there is not even one known ecommerce solution that works like that and there is definitely no oblivious benefit, on the contrary this is a MAJOR problem of BC

Inappropriate?Mitch - thank you! This feature is 90% there, but we currently do not use it because of this reason. Customers want the information the second they open there email, they don't want to then login etc.
If order messages were included in the email to the customer that would improve the feature greatly. Even better would be if the customer could then just hit reply to the email and that message was then sent back into the order messages in the Admin CP - like ticket support system.

Inappropriate?if you could just populate the order_status_email template with any of these variables that are already used in other email templates, that would pretty much solve the issue.

Inappropriate?I agree completely, and am really surprised that the customer has to log in to see their message. I didn't realise this was the case. As a customer myself, I know that would really p me off!
Also, don't you get an email when someone leaves you a message? That should also be a standard notification!
Our site goes live in the next couple of days - there are little tiny things like this popping up a lot as we're coming to the live-day - things that really surprise me!
